CLNC and Legal Nurse Consultant Definitions

"The legal nurse consultant is a licensed registered nurse who performs a critical analysis of healthcare facts and issues and their outcomes for the legal profession, healthcare professions, and others as appropriate. With a strong experiential and educational background, the legal nurse consultant is qualified to assess adherence to standards of healthcare practice as it applies to the nursing and healthcare professions."

FNP-BC Family Nurse Practitioner - is a licensed Registered Nurse and is certified by the Board of Registered Nursing who possesses additional preparation and skills in physical diagnosis, psychosocial assessment, and management of health and illness needs in primary health care. BC is defined as being board certified by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANNC).
CNS-BC Clinical Nurse Specialist - is a licensed Registered Nurse and is certified by the Board of Registered Nursing with a master's or doctorate degree in a clinical field of nursing. Component roles include expert clinical practice, leadership, consultation, and education. The CNS is an advanced practice nursing specialist that treats complex patient focused problems and practices quality and cost-effective outcome management influencing patients, nursing personnel and organizations. BC is defined as being board certified by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANNC).
PHN Public Health Nurse - Certified by the California Board of Registered Nursing possessing the ability to transfer scientific knowledge from biological, social and physical sciences in applying the nursing process.
CNOR Certified Nurse Operating Room - Certification granted by the Certification Board Perioperative Nursing for professional achievement by a Registered Nurse providing patient care before, during and after surgery.
CRNFA Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant - Certification granted by the Certification Board Perioperative Nursing for professional achievement as a Registered Nurse First Assistant. A CRNFA means a professional nurse who is educationally prepared and trained as a surgical first assistant and possesses additional preparation and skills in perioperative nursing.
RHIT Registered Health Information Technician - Certified by the American Health Information Management Association validating expertise and professional competence in Health Information Management. Component areas include medical record review and analysis, data management, coding, confidentiality, and release of medical information.
