This is one of the brand-new slot titles that Pragmatic Play is releasing in 2021.
Gates of Olympus is fairly impressive, and although the slot does not offer an original story, it still manages to capture a lot of attention.
For the theme, Pragmatic Play has borrowed from the gods of Ancient Greece, with Zeus acting as the character.
As a Pragmatic Play, I knew I was in for great gameplay, and after playing this title for a few days, here is my unbiased review:
Gates of Olympus uses a 6x5 reels design, and I was surprised to see that the developer has used a different way of forming wins.
To form wins players are required to use the All Ways system, and all symbols present are scatters. The symbols can deliver wins from wherever they are.
Gates of Olympus has the usual features that include free spins, tumbling reels, scatters, as well as multipliers.
The wagers here are designed to fit every level of player, and with as little as $0.20, you can be able to spin the reels. The developer has allowed up to $100 per spin.
The payouts are not so bad, and with the help of features like multipliers, you can take home as much as 5,000x the stake per spin.
The slot is relatively volatile, but it also offers an above-average RTP of 96.50%.
The 6x5 reel's design gives you up to 30 symbols that you can play with. To create a combo, you will require an additional 8+ similar symbols anywhere on the reels.
The available All Ways system is a concept that transforms all symbols into scatters.
After you form a combo, the Tumbles will come in to remove the involved symbols and deliver new ones.
This activity ends up bringing along new wins, and more Tumbles. Occasionally, you may get the multipliers on the round’s wins, but this is random and not guaranteed.
Real scatters will also appear, but only one, and per each reel.
The real scatters are quite helpful, and with 4, 5 or 6 landing on the reels, you will be rewarded with some free spins, plus a prize of 100x the stake.
You can use the same scatters to retrigger the free spins, where you will receive an extra 5 rounds.
Zeus and Ancient Greece is the inspiration behind Gates of Olympus, and Pragmatic Play has pulled this out quite well.
The graphics are good, and the symbols include several gemstones that have varying colours (blue, yellow, green, purple, and red), rings, goblets, crowns, hourglasses, not to forget Zeus himself.
Gates of Olympus looks great in all aspects, but the slot is quite high in volatility.
Although the RTP and top payouts are attractive, the slot carries significant risk, and I can only recommend it to more experienced players.
