The Asian culture, and particularly Japan’s, has been a source of inspiration for many people over the years. One of the things many people admire about this country is the season of the year when there is plenty of cherry blossoms everywhere.
This is the same season that Betsoft has relied on to create the storyline for their latest slot, Winds of Wealth.
I had an opportunity to try out the slot immediately after it became available on my favourite online casino, and I will share some of the details in the review below:
Winds of Wealth offers 5x4 reels, with up to 30 fixed pay lines. Among its many features are random Winds of Wealth, stacked mystery symbols, free spins, as well as wild symbols.
The real money bets start from a low of $0.30 per spin, while the maximum that can go into a single spin is $30.
Compared with many of the latest modern slots, I can say that Winds of Wealth is not one of the most generous games, and the MAX that it can offer real money gamers is 1,506x the stake.
However, with the volatility being at a medium level, then the rewards are not all that bad. The RTP of 96.04% is also at the right level.
Winds of Wealth Slot Features
The Gold Coin serves as the Wild feature of the slot. As usual, it is the symbol that will serve as a replacement/substitute as you form winning combinations (the wild only appears on the last four reels).
However, since it won’t form its own combos, the wild has no ability to pay you directly.
Stacked mystery symbols will also be available on all reels. Before the reel goes on a spin, a regular symbol is picked, and all are transformed into its version.
This way, each reel gets a certain symbol, and this will likely appear on the reels, from where it will form winning combinations.
The other feature is the Winds of Wealth, a random but powerful one that shares the name with the slot’s title. Once triggered, you will notice that all the low-value Royal symbols are removed, and a cascade follows. With the cascade in action, you get a new batch of symbols.
The premium plus wild symbols will remain on the reels, and extra cascades will follow until you no longer have any Royals present. When it’s all done, the slot pays you both ways, for winning combos that were formed via wilds and the premium symbols.
The scatter is represented by the Lucky Cat bonus symbol, and it is what you will rely on to trigger the free spins. To do this, you are required to land between 3 and 5 Lucky Cats on the reels. This will reward you with 10 to 25 free spins plus an opportunity to claim up to 50xs in prizes.
Landing another set of 3+ bonus icons will retrigger extra free spins. I also noted that you get better chances of getting access to Winds of Wealth while in the free spins mode.
As I have already mentioned, Betsoft draws inspiration for this slot from Japan and its culture. In the background image, you get the cherry blossoms icons. I enjoyed the visuals here, but I must admit that the graphics are not unusual for a slot designed by Betsoft.
Symbols include Royals (9 to A), plus images of paper lanterns, hand fans, and small idol statues, not to forget the conspicuous image of a Japanese woman. Gold Coin Wilds, and Lucky Cat bonus symbols will also show up.
Winds of Wealth is an excellent slot machine for the most part. However, there is one area that did not impress me and that is the top jackpot.
As a real money gamer, I was expecting something better for a slot that comes with a medium to high volatility. I can only recommend this slot to casual players.
